Vehicle manufacturers and their respective air conditioning system suppliers recommend that the system is serviced every 2 years. This entails refrigerant recovery, possible replacement of the receiver drier, system leak check and then recharge with fresh refrigerant and lubricating oil.
It is estimated that today around 85% of new cars are sold with air conditioning systems fitted as standard. The UK market is therefore witnessing an ever-increasing number of cars with air conditioning systems that will require regular servicing.
